When it comes to job longevity and dedication to the field of periodontics, it’s hard to beat that of our Ambler office administrator, Cathy Quigg.
Cathy started at our Ambler office as a receptionist for beloved, deceased periodontist, Dr. John Di Girolamo.
“When Dr. Di Girolamo suddenly passed away, Dr. Fava was one of an influx of incredible volunteer doctors and hygiene specialists who reached out to me to help us keep our doors open for patients,” she recalls. “There were so many wonderful people lending their expertise, coming in on their days off, and then Dr. Fava ultimately eased the transition by purchasing the location later in the year, and also bringing Dr. Eric Schoenebeck on board.”
Dr. Fava sees Cathy as a “site lead” who “puts her dignity into the practice” and “is the reason the practice is still here after John died in 2018.”
Cathy modestly shrugs off the accolades and explains that she truly enjoys her job, a position which has morphed over the years to now include handling payroll and insurance administration.
“I love our patients,” she says enthusiastically. “It’s great to have this personal family-like vibe, to know when someone’s daughter is getting married, when someone has gone on a vacation, or simply sharing poignant stories and laughs.”
When time off and weather allow, Cathy enjoys going to the NJ shore (Avalon is top of the list). She’s an avid reader, an Italian food fan (shout out to Po Le Cucina’s spaghetti bolognese), and an exercise enthusiast. She enjoys spending time with friends and a growing family that currently includes three siblings, 11 nieces and nephews and four great-nieces and nephews!
